Flesh Dish
2023
Acrylic paint on ceramics
3 x 7 x 7 inches
Plates made of ceramics clay, hardened in kiln, and painted with acrylic paint. Plates are a resemblance of human flesh and a metaphorical representation of the hunting and preying of wars. As the plates hold various organic materials, they express the various indefinite aspects of property stolen from people during wars. Wars emerge from the greed of the people, as they barbarously strip neighboring communities of their agriculture, property, cultures, food, and life.
The Temperature of Politics
2023
Plastic stencils and wood on lamp.
38 x 30 x 22 inches
Lamp heads, created with plastic stencils in the shapes of balloons and masks, cast shadows in a spectrum of light, resembling the various influences of world politics. Polar yin and yang repeat the patterns of overpowering and adjusting until they finally reach an equilibrium. As politics constantly shift, this piece shows the hope for political influence to eventually reach balance and peace.

Balloon-Sapiens
2023
Melted plastic balloons scanned as digital illustration.
Balloons are arranged in the shape of a dancing human. The balloons represent the inflated desire of humans as the humans act – dance – by these desires. The mere latex and vanity of balloons, hidden by their decorative beauty, reflect humans’ selfish desires that are hidden by their altruistic reasonings, just like the true causes of wars being veiled by altruistic assertions.
